Marinating Chicken
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat the oil or ghee in a pot over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Fry for a couple of minutes until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pot. Cook it until browned on all sides.
- Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Allow it to cook for about 30-40 minutes until the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
Notes
For best results, allow the chicken to marinate longer. Sauté onions until golden for sweetness. Serve with rice or naan.
