Fries
  • 26 ounces frozen French fries Choose your favorite brand for best results.
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour This will help thicken your cheese sauce.
  • 2 cups whole milk Creates a creamier sauce.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust this to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper Adds a subtle kick.
  • 2 teaspoons ranch seasoning powder Perfect for extra flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder (divided) Use more or less for your preferred spice level.
  • 8 ounces white cheddar cheese (shredded) Freshly shredded cheese melts better.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Arrange frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet or air fryer basket.
  3. Bake until golden brown according to package instructions.
Making the Cheese Sauce
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour until combined; cook for about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add milk while whisking continuously; stir in salt, pepper, ranch seasoning, and cayenne.
  3. Lower heat to medium-low and cook until thickened (about 5 minutes), then stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
Serving
  1. Pour the cheese sauce over cooked fries and serve warm.

Notes

For the best texture and flavor, serve fries immediately after adding the sauce. You can adjust cayenne pepper to increase heat. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in an oven or air fryer.
