Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Baking
