Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and chia seeds.
- Add mashed banana, oil, honey, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Mix well.
- Firmly press the mixture into the prepared pan.
Baking
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Cover with foil and bake an additional 10 minutes.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Lift the bars out and slice them into rectangles or squares.
Notes
To ensure perfect chocolate chip granola bars, press the mixture firmly into the pan, use very ripe bananas for better sweetness, and keep an eye on the baking time to avoid overcooking. They can be enjoyed fresh or stored for later use.
