Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the top off the onion and peel it.
  2. Make 12-16 vertical cuts down through the onion, but not all the way through.
Coating
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Dip the onion into buttermilk, allowing it to soak in.
  3. Coat the onion evenly with the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  4. Spray the onion with cooking spray and coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Place in the air fryer basket and air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce.
