  • 2 slices thick bread Choose sourdough or sandwich bread for best results.
  • 2 eggs eggs Fresh eggs work best for a delightful flavor.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella add fantastic taste.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Optional, use for extra flavor on the bread.
  • to taste Salt and pepper A must for seasoning.
  • to taste Fresh parsley or chives Optional, adds a pop of color and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  2. Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Press a well into the center of the buttered side.
  4. Crack one egg into each bread slice.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges or over the egg whites.
Cooking
  1. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, until the egg whites are set and the cheese melts.
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

To store leftovers, place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for about 3-5 minutes.
